THOMAS, JOHN B.
Age 71, of Rio Rancho, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012. John grew up in Southern California and followed his father into the trucking business. He and Ann moved to Albuquerque in 2008. He worked for Utility Trailer SW Sales for 22 years. He had been the President/Chairman of the California Trucking Association in the 1960's. His career took him from California to Arizona to Colorado to Texas, and finally to New Mexico. John was very involved in the Cub and Boy Scouts for many years as a Scoutmaster of which he was very proud. While in High School, he had been involved in DeMolay. He is survived by Ann, his loving wife of 48 years; their children, Pam Christy and husband, Kevin, Christine Skarda and husband, Duke, and Mike Thomas; grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Cole, and Madi; brother, Wayne Thomas and wife, Monica; nieces, Catherine Thomas and Eve Brown. John was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne John and Loy Evelyn Thomas. Services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012, 1:00 pm, at Chester T French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
